Project Spotlight: 1974 Baby Blue Bronco Restoration At Wasatch Customs, we recently had the privilege of working on a stunning 1974 Ford Bronco. This beauty came into the shop ready for a complete overhaul, and we gave it the full treatment from bumper to bumper. From a new exhaust system to a custom saddle leather interior, this Bronco received a modernized touch while keeping its classic rugged charm intact. Here’s an in-depth look at the upgrades and enhancements we made to bring this classic back to life.
- New Exhaust System
We started by outfitting the Bronco with a brand-new exhaust system. This upgrade not only improves performance and fuel efficiency but also gives the Bronco a deeper, more powerful sound. Now, it sounds as good as it looks and performs like it’s ready for any adventure.
- American Auto Wire Harness
Next, we installed an American Auto Wire harness to replace the original wiring. This crucial update ensures safe and reliable electrical performance while accommodating all the modern components we added. Clean, organized wiring also makes future repairs or adjustments much easier—a detail we always consider.
- Fuel Injection System
To improve the Bronco’s drivability and reliability, we swapped out the old carburetor for a fuel injection system. With this addition, the Bronco now starts easier, runs smoother, and has improved fuel efficiency, making it the ideal setup for both off-road adventures and city cruising.
- CVF Serpentine System
For the engine bay, we added a CVF serpentine belt system, which optimizes space, reduces strain on the engine, and provides smooth operation of the Bronco’s components. This modern system replaces the older belt setup, offering both a cleaner look and better performance.
- Complete Body and Paint
the Bronco’s body received our complete restoration treatment, from rust repair to smoothing out every dent. Then we applied a custom baby blue paint job that brings out the Bronco’s vintage appeal. The fresh paint is a showstopper, with a shine that complements its rugged personality while protecting it from the elements.
- Dakota Digital Gauges
We added Dakota Digital gauges, seamlessly blending vintage style with modern technology. These gauges offer accurate readings, smooth movement, and a stylish display that suits the Bronco’s new look. It’s a functional and aesthetic upgrade that adds to the driving experience.
- Saddle Leather Interior
Inside, we went all out with a saddle leather interior. This rich, luxurious leather adds a touch of sophistication to the Bronco’s classic style, while providing durability and comfort for any adventure. The custom interior elevates the Bronco’s cabin, making it a pleasure to drive and ride in.
- New Carpet
We laid down new carpet throughout the interior, enhancing both the look and feel of the cabin. The carpet complements the leather seats and gives the interior a fresh, clean finish that makes the Bronco feel brand new. 9. New Wheels and Tires To wrap up the project, we installed a new set of wheels and tires. These were chosen for their performance and aesthetic appeal, providing both the rugged capability needed for off-road adventures and the classic style that matches the Bronco’s restored look. Final Thoughts This 1974 baby blue Bronco is a perfect example of how a classic vehicle can be modernized while retaining its timeless charm. With all the upgrades and customizations, it’s ready to take on the road or trail with style and power. At Wasatch Customs, we take pride in transforming vintage rides like this one into works of art that can be enjoyed for years to come. Have a classic vehicle that needs a little TLC?
